Ministries
Nursery
Nursery is provided for children ages 0 to 3 years during
Sunday School, AND Worship.
Sunday School
We have Sunday School from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. on Sunday
mornings. We offer classes from Pre-School all the way through
adults, with two to four adult classes, and the children grouped by
age. We offer Sunday School every month.
Except for one month during the summer to give our
workers a break TBA 2009.
Children's Church
Our children start out in the worship service at 10:30 and
generally stay during the singing and offering. Children's Church
then runs from about 11:05 to 12:00, although the release time if
dependent upon the length of the sermon. Children's Church is
available for Pre-school through 5th grade. We offer this every
month with the exception in the summer we are off one month
to give workers a break TBA 2009
AWANA starts September 10th, 2008
Lent's Baptist Church has had an AWANA ministry for over 25
years. It presently takes place on Wednesday nights, 6:45-8:30
during the school year. It is the place where we most consistently
minister, not just to our church kids, but to neighborhood kids as
well. We have had anywhere from 50 to 100 kids in attendance, 2
years old to 6th grade. This year we will offer Puggles again.
When school is close because of weather there will be no
AWANA Club that night.
Lents Baptist Youth Ministry
The mission objective for the youth ministry is "Students
accepted...Lives changed". We currently have two programs that
incorporate the "LENTS" strategies: Sunday Mornings as a
"build/equip" function and Monday evenings as a "win" function. Our
Youth Ministry Shock Wave
(grades 6-8) and Solid Rock
(grades 9-12) students attending.
B.o.B. Band of Brothers is our college age group
that meet on Sunday evenings.
We conduct Youth Services each year, for which the students provide the bulk of a Sunday Morning Service. This function incorporates students into the main body of believers and provides the adult congregation a chance to see what is happening with our students.
Seniors Ministry at Lents Baptist Church
We are have a weekly bible study.
Thursdays at 1:30-3:30PM taught by Pastor Mitch Gibbs We are in
Ephesians, Life Change Series.
Men's Ministries
Activities for men have included recreational activities,
Super-bowl parties, men's leadership classes, and annual trips to CB
Northwest's Men's Roundup. Men's Roundup has been a great
opportunity for our men to be together, sharing spiritual challenges
and insights as we have discussions following each session.
Women's Ministries
We try to provide training for spiritual and practical life
skills, emotional support and lots of fun. we attempt to reach women
of all ages and various needs. Our activities have included: Women's
Spring Weekend Retreat, Women's Camp at Camp Tadmor, Fall My Girl
Friend Closet, Clothing Exchange, Christmas Craft-Making Event,
Monthly No-host Brunch, Faith Mission Circle, Scrapbooking, Women's
Sunday School Class/Prayer Group, Baby and Bridal Showers.
Small Groups
The Small Groups are intended to be a place where everyone
can connect with others where they can build relationship, which
will allow them to share at a deeper level. They include three basic
elements: Bible Study, Fellowship and Prayer.
Camping
One weekend each summer, the church organizes an all church
campout located at a different campsite each year. Well attended, it
is a time for those who don't normally mix together to socialize on
an informal basis while swimming, boating, bike riding, fishing, and
putt-putt golfing, to mention just a few of the activities. In
addition to the church campout, some members also attend the various
camps at Tadmor, a CB Northwest camping facility.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is a vital summer ministry here at
Lents Baptist Church. It is an outreach ministry to kids in the
neighborhood as well as to those who faithfully attend. All children
are encouraged to bring friends. There is an evening closing
program. This year we had a great turn out with kids bringing their
families to an open house format. It is usually on the hottest day
of the month and we end the evening with snacks outside. This is a
wonderful opportunity to build relationships with the community.
